Solar Energy
Sustainability has been a constant global pressing issue of all time today. As such, solar energy is the key solution to reduce the impact on the planet.
Solar energy is a renewable resource that generates electricity through the use of solar panels. It produces zero emissions and reduces environmental footprint as compared to fossils fuels which emit harmful greenhouse gases and consequently contribute to climate change.
In addition to its environmental benefits, solar energy also provides a range of economic benefits as it creates energy independence and security, reduce reliance on foreign sources of energy and allows business owners to sell excess solar-generated electricity back to the grid. Overall, solar energy is a crucial step towards achieving a sustainable future.

How Is Solar Energy Generated?
Solar energy is generated through the use of solar panels, also known as photovoltaic (PV) panels. These panels are made up of multiple photovoltaic cells which convert sunlight into electricity through the process known as the photovoltaic effect.
When sunlight hits the PV cells, it ignites the electrons within the cells and creates a flow of electric current. The electricity is then collected by wires on the panel and sent to an inverter, which converts the direct current (DC) into the alternating current (AC) that can be used in homes and businesses.
The AC electricity will then be sent to the electrical panel, which can be distributed throughout the building to generate power for equipment and machinery, or to be sent back to the electrical grid. When a solar panel system generates more electricity than what is required for use, the excess electricity can be sent back to the grid for other forms of usage, which helps to reduce the electricity bill.

Frequently Asked Questions
What agreement will I sign with ETHOZ?
You will sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with us based on agreed price over a defined contractual period.
Do I need to fork out any upfront capital for the PV (Photovoltaic) installation?
There will be no capital required and all the processes (installation, operating and licensing cost) are borne by ETHOZ!
How many years do we have to commit once we signed the PPA?
The PPA is 10 years, which is relatively shorter than general market’s practice at 25 years!
Who owns the rooftop solar system?
ETHOZ owns, operates and maintains the rooftop solar system and sells the solar power to you via the PPA. The rooftop solar system belongs to you after the contractual period ends.
Who will be responsible for operating and maintaining the rooftop solar system?
ETHOZ will be responsible for operating and maintaining the system. The services include cleaning, checking and troubleshooting.
Do I need to make any modifications to my roof?
It is unlikely for most cases. Our solar professionals will conduct an assessment for you.
How do I coordinate the amount of power I need from the grid after installing rooftop solar?
The switchover to grid is seamless and does not require manual intervention. When the solar energy generated is inadequate to supply your demand load, power will be drawn from the grid to supplement it.
